Location: Pascagoula, MS
We are seeking a skilled 1st Class Flux Core Welder with experience in FCAW 2G/3G/4G structural welding to work in a shipyard environment. The ideal candidate must be able to pass hands-on FCAW welding tests , perform high-quality, cosmetic welds, and work safely while reading blueprints and work orders. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot welding equipment.
Minimum 3 years of FCAW 2G/3G/4G structural welding experience
Ability to pass a hands-on FCAW welding test :
2G and 3G positions
3G welded with downhill progression
4G welded entirely in the overhead position
Proficiency in structural welding techniques
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders
Knowledge of safety standards and best practices related to welding
Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident
Obtain the appropriate tools and set up welding equipment for each job
Bind together structural metal components that have been pre-assembled and tacked
Perform cosmetic, sound welds with minimal rework
Examine and finish own work, including grinding, chipping, or gouging as needed
Troubleshoot and maintain welding equipment
Ensure work meets quality standards with minimal defects or rework
