The Department of Orthopedics is currently seeking a full time Research Assistant 1 to work in Miami, FL. The Research Assistant 1 contributes with research investigators by providing research and experimentation support while following established protocols. Further, the Research Assistant performs a clerical role to ensure the smooth operations of office facilities.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                           

  • Sets up and operates various scientific apparatus and makes minor repairs.

  • Prepares correspondence and answers phones.

  • Formulates and maintains bibliographies and completes applications and forms.

  • Orders laboratory supplies and maintains culture media reagents.

  • Reviews and edits various materials for publication and prepares publication schedules.

  • Maintains appropriate logs, records, and study notebooks.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                        

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Department Specific Functions

  • The Research Assistant supports the Research Leadership and Principal Investigator of designated research projects.

  • He/she performs those functions required by the research protocols with attention to participant safety.

  • Ensure that all requirements of the research protocol are met.

  • He/she ensures compliance with regulatory standards for each protocol.

  • Must be able to complete detailed paperwork in strict accordance with regulatory requirements and deal with physicians, patients, sponsors and other departments in a service excellence manner. Travel between entities as needed.

  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
