Job Description

Summary

The Section of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Baylor St. Luke's Medical Group, is seeking a Physician Assistant.

Job Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including obtaining detailed medical histories and performing physical examinations.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests in alignment with patient health concerns and clinical protocols.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments based on patient needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and orders.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records and documentation.
  • Provide follow-up care and health maintenance for established patients, adhering to protocols developed in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Communicate effectively with supervising physicians, patients, and their families regarding patient care and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and practice staff to identify and manage appropriate patients for care management.
  • Offer ambulatory coverage for established patients to support the expansion of new patient appointment slots within the practice.
  • Provide clinical coverage for post-operative and follow-up patients on days when supervising physicians are attending to hospital duties.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians during clinic hours to support patient care and workflow.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education Required: Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. NOTE: Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Studies accepted based on terminal degree requirements at time of graduation.
  • Experience Required: None required.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: Current license as a Physician Assistant by the State of Texas Physician Assistant Board. Specialty certification as required by department. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
