Job Description

All American Pet Resorts New Bern in New Bern, NC is looking for one pet groomer to join our 25 person strong team. We are located on 4146 Dr. M.L.K. Jr Blvd. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and reliable.

Responsibilities

Rebook appointments as needed

Pre-groom assessment of each pet and discussion with the owner regarding condition of coat and potential necessity for close clipping. 

Thorough bathing, conditioning and drying

Trim nails, brush teeth and clean ears and express anal glands safely

Groom and style pets according to established breed standards or owner’s instructions

Ability to lift 50 lbs safely, unassisted

Identify and report health issues such as ear infections and skin conditions to pet owners

Advise clients on at-home grooming practices

Ensure safety and well being of pets throughout grooming process

Maintain cleanliness in your work area to maintain resort hygiene, as well as light closing duties-cleaning sink, remove hair from drain, sanitize your table and sweep your area. 

Handle client check-in/check-out and POS system

Daily review and response to grooming requests via software and VMs

Promote yourself through social media and other marketing initiatives to attract new clients 

Cooperate and Collaborate and communicate with other resort staff in front desk, boarding and daycare roles.

Qualifications

We are looking for an energetic and experienced pet groomer to join our Pet Resort staff. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years experience in pet grooming, be detail oriented and have an excellent understanding of animal behavior. Experience with cats is a plus. 

This candidate will be dedicated to growing their client list and would work Sundays and Mondays to fill our current scheduling void.
