San Jose, CA (Onsite) | Contract (6 Months) | $85/hour

Design, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade Pega applications, ensuring business continuity through expert release management, production support, and system performance optimization.

A leading global technology services organization is seeking an experienced Pega Developer with deep expertise in Pega Platform development, case management, and end-to-end release management. This role will support critical enterprise operations, lead production issue resolution, and manage large-scale data optimizations to maintain seamless system performance.

This position is 100% onsite in San Jose, CA .

Position Overview

The Pega Developer will serve as a trusted technical authority for high-stakes production systems, managing monthly release cycles, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring data integrity across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of IT experience with advanced Pega development expertise, strong SQL skills, and experience working in large enterprise ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using the Pega Platform , with a focus on case management and process automation.

  • Lead the monthly Pega release cycle , overseeing testing, QA coordination, deployment, and post-release monitoring.

  • Provide production support and resolve high-priority technical issues to ensure business continuity.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data integrity , leading large-scale optimizations and cleanups to prevent system slowdowns or outages.

  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to write complex SQL queries, streamline troubleshooting, and enhance delivery speed.

  • Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and data engineering teams to support testing, deployment, and system performance.

  • Ensure all configurations, deployments, and changes align with enterprise standards and governance.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and identify automation opportunities within the release cycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of total IT experience , including 8+ years in Pega application development and release management.

  • Proven expertise in Pega Platform , Confluent Cloud , Kafka integration , or API-based architectures .

  • Strong experience in SQL , large-scale data operations, and performance optimization.

  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) for query writing and automation.

  • Demonstrated success in managing end-to-end release cycles , including testing and deployment.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex production systems.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Pega Certifications: Certified Pega Senior System Architect (CSSA) or Certified Pega Lead System Architect (CLSA).

  • Experience with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs , Java/OOP, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Prior experience mentoring junior developers or leading small project teams.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams.
