**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a **Mental Health worker** to join our team of mission-driven healthcare professionals located on our Behavioral Health Unit located at **Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, CT** . The Mental Health Worker / Behavioral Health Tech is key role to keep patients engaged in recovery-oriented activities, help to communicate patient's needs to the clinical team, to monitor patient safety and to work with the nursing professionals to create a healing environment for patients. **_You Will Be Responsible For:_** + Performs patient observations and other patient care activities. + Observes patient behavior. + Performs, reports, and documents vital signs, ADLs. + Responds rapidly to emergency call lights and performs safety checks. + Provides group and individual interventions to assist the psychiatric patient towards recovery and rehabilitation. **_Requirements:_** + **Education:** High School Diploma/Equivalent with related experience required. Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field preferred + **Certification:** AHA CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers + Experience: Possesses a broad practical understanding of life experiences and the ability to relate to emotionally ill individuals. + Prior experience in psychiatric setting a plus. + Ability to prioritize tasks. Maintain confidentiality.
