Librarian Job in the UAE | Teach Abroad

1. Are you an experienced Librarian that is looking for a new exciting challenge?
2. Do you have experience of working with the IB curriculum?

My client is a leading IB group of schools in the UAE looking for an experienced Librarian.  The school is accredited by the International Baccalaureate and so you will be a key person in supporting the curriculum needs of the students and teachers and be involved with the CPD and curriculum at the school. 

1. Demonstrate an  up to date understanding of the curriculum in PYP, MYP and DP
2. Promote and appreciate children's literature and enjoyment in recreational reading
3. Help students become familiar with a range of authors and genres in both print and digital format
4. Give students guidance on their reading choices
5. Review journals and have selection tool to be up to date about current children's literature
6. Actively market the school at every opportunity
7. Where necessary meet and greet with parents and introduce their child's literature or learning journey
8. Create marketing material which can be promoted school-wide and beyond
9. Have a firm knowledge and understanding of teachers professional duties and specified in the school handbook
10. Work with teachers to organise Library sessions and promote the joy of reading for the class
11. Promote trust and confidence in pupils and colleagues
12. Maintain an up to date knowledge of good practice in teaching techniques and seek to engage in professional conversation with the school
13. Seek and maximise opportunity's within the organisation - For us, opportunities need to be meaningful, about achieving potential and making progress.
14. Recognise and pursue impact within your role. The impact should be immediate, positive and lasting.
15. Encourage and accept leadership within the organisation
16. Nurture and model respect in all professional and personal interactions

The campuses have a varying degree of technology and so you should be someone that is flexible to adapt but also strong enough to take the Library/Learning centre-forward.

1. Degree in library studies
2. Master in Library studies or equivalent
3. Ideally 3 years experience
4. Western-trained
5. Experience of the IB curriculum is highly preferred
6. Have an EXCELLENT command of written and spoken English
7. Up to date with modern technology

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:

Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Experience:

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)

Must be a native speaker of English

Newly Qualified Teachers are NOT considered

Prefer candidates with international experience

Additional:

**Experience of the IB Curriculum is beneficial but not essential as training will be given
**Experience of USA Curriculum such as American Harcourt, AP and Common Core is highly valued
**It will be beneficial to your application if you have experience of working in the Middle East or with non-native speakers of English

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:

A salary from 12375 up to 15,675  AED (UAE Dirham)per month based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE

Utility Bills:

500AED per month

Baggage Allowance:
