As an Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) in the Infrastructure Services Section, working as a Network Administrator , you will use your advanced technical expertise to help keep our network systems running at their best.  You’ll take ownership of critical projects—everything from evaluating and installing new hardware and software to configuring, testing, and maintaining network infrastructure. You’ll work with enterprise-grade tools like Cisco routers and switches, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, and advanced security and remote access solutions.

The Network Administrator is who teams turn to when complex IT network challenges arise. You’ll provide hands-on support, troubleshoot issues, and make sure our Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) teams have the secure, reliable connectivity they need to succeed. From planning and building new systems to keeping operations smooth, your expertise will directly impact the success of the organization.

While duties for this position are focused in the Business Technology Management, Client Services, Software Engineering and System Engineering domains, work may be assigned in the other domains as needed.   • This position may require the use of a hand-cart to transport documents and/or equipment over 20 pounds.

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required and must be submitted with your application. The SOQ serves as a documentation of each candidate’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing.

When completing the SOQ, you must title the page “Statement of Qualifications” and list the question, providing your answer below.
