Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dermatology Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dermatological care and be proficient in various medical procedures relevant to the field. This role requires excellent patient assessment skills, the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and staff at levels, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Experience
Candidates should have experience in the following areas:

  • Clinical settings such as outpatient clinics, urgent care, or emergency medicine.
  • Previous Dermatology experience.
  • Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation of diagnoses.
  • Proficiency in performing suturing, phlebotomy, and other minor surgical procedures related to dermatology.
  • Knowledge of various medical specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and infectious disease care is advantageous.
  • Previous involvement in clinical trials or research projects related to dermatology is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and medical history intake.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations and develop treatment plans for dermatological conditions.
  • Administer injections, including botulinum toxin treatments and dermal fillers, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
  • Manage acute pain and provide triage for patients presenting with urgent dermatological issues.
  • Maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems.
  • Educate patients on skin care, treatment options, and preventive measures for skin health.
  • Participate in discharge planning and follow-up care for patients post-treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and NCQA standards in all patient interactions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals in clinical research and trials related to dermatology.
