West Bloomfield Dermatology and Mohs Surgery is seeking a medical assistant for our busy practice. We are looking for someone friendly, knowledgeable, and with great interpersonal skills. Experience as a medical assistant in Dermatology is REQUIRED and experience in Mohs surgery is an added bonus! Experience with Modernizing Medicine/EMA is preferred. Primary responsibilities will include supporting doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.

Responsibilities:

• Room/interview patients and obtain and record an accurate history.
• Scribing for the physician in the room.
• Assisting the physician with procedures such as biopsies, excisions, electrodessication and curettage, I&D.
• Review and educate patients on biopsy results, laboratory test results, treatment plans, and medications per physician order.
• Cleaning and stocking exam rooms accordingly.
• Provide wound care and follow up directions to patients after treatments.
• Writing prescriptions for patients and e-scribing per physician order.
• Complete pathology requisitions and maintain a pathology log for biopsies performed.
