Under the supervision of the Supervisor I, the Analyst I call center agent is responsible for varied analytical work related to the State's hearing process for a wide variety of programs, such as Medi-Cal, Cal-Fresh, Covered California, In-Home Support Services, etc. The incumbent works directly with claimants and authorized representatives (ARs) to file oral hearing requests via Virtual Contact Center (VCC). The Analyst I phone agent is responsible for accurate data entry into the Appeal Case Management System (ACMS) and processing of incoming and outgoing calls. Duties include receiving telephone calls from claimants or authorized representatives, initiating verbal hearing requests via ACMS, and referring customers to the appropriate county or responsible agencies, and will include access to various information systems that contain protected claimant information.

Working Conditions

This work location is very convenient! We're located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation; within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer's markets, and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has a daycare on site, and easy access to I-5, Hwy 50, and Hwy 80. Partial telework offered.

This position is eligible for hybrid work in accordance with the Governor’s  Executive Order N-22-25 and at the sole discretion of the Department of Social Services under California Government Code Section 14200. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be re-evaluated at any time. The incumbent will be expected to report for in office work and attend work related in-person events as deemed operationally necessary. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the CDSS policies. For positions advertised in more than one location, headquarter location may be designated on the selected candidate's primary residence location, and/or the closest CDSS location in accordance with operational need and available space. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Training and Development assignments may be considered based on the availability of eligible candidates and are subject to approval by the Hiring Authority prior to the appointment. Training and Development assignments are temporary in nature and shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months.
