BOOKKEEPER

Part-Time Bookkeeper (Remote) — Nonprofit Foundation

Organization: The APS Type 1 Foundation, Inc.

Location: Remote

Position Type: Part-Time

Hours: Approximately 10–15 hours per month

Compensation: $22-$25/hour

About Us

The APS Type 1 Foundation is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to education, awareness, and fundraising for research for a rare disorder, APS Type 1, also known as APECED. We are a small, passionate team working to make a meaningful impact, and we’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented bookkeeper to help us stay organized and compliant.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper to manage our monthly financial records, assist with grant reporting, and support our annual audit process. This is a flexible, remote role ideal for someone who enjoys working independently and has a passion for supporting nonprofit work.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile accounts using APLOS online accounting software

• Record income, donations, grants, and expenses

• Reconcile bank and credit card statements

• Provide monthly financial reports to the Executive Board

• Assist with budget tracking and grant reporting

• Prepare documentation for annual audit and tax filings

• Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial standards

Qualifications

• Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably for nonprofit organizations

• Proficiency with accounting software

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Familiarity with nonprofit reporting requirements (a plus)

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

• Degree or certification in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred but not required)

Schedule & Work Environment

• Flexible hours — approximately 10–15 hours per month

• Fully remote; communicate via email and virtual meetings and in person as needed.
