Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Assistant with a focus on Accounts Payable to join our finance team located near Lake Forest, Il. This role is crucial for supporting the smooth and efficient processing of invoices, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AP processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team.

Accounting Assistant Responsibilities:

• Review, verify, and process incoming invoices in a timely and accurate manner
• Ensure invoices are properly coded, matched with purchase orders, and approved by relevant departments
• Resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with company policies
• Prepare and process payments to vendors via checks, bank transfers, and other payment methods
• Monitor payment due dates and ensure timely settlement of outstanding liabilities
• Reconcile accounts payable ledgers to ensure that all payments are accurately recorded and up to date

Accounting Assistant Requirements:

• Proven experience in an accounts payable or finance assistant role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes
• Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
• Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams
