Job Description

Accounting Assistant Wage Range: $18-22/hr The Accounting Assistant provides support to the accounting team by performing clerical and administrative tasks related to financial record keeping and reporting. This role ensures accurate data entry, helps maintain financial records, and assists with general accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow in the accounting field. Essential Functions:

  • Assist with daily financial transactions, including processing invoices, expense reports, and payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and verify accuracy.
  • Support year-end reporting, including 1099s and Certified Rent Payments.
  • Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding billing, payments, and receipts.
  • Assist the accounting and finance team with reports and special projects.
  • Serve as the Concur Administrator by managing users, updating coding, and assisting employees with questions.
  • Act as a back-up for AP inquiries, invoice entry, and payment processing.
  • Support accounts receivable activities as needed.
  • Answer company phone calls, take messages, and route inquiries appropriately.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in an accounting or finance support role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
